Resident Parking Scheme update from Redland Neighbourhood forum on Tuesday 23rd September (which unfortunately no Canowie Road residents were able to attend)
It was reported that Jon Toy, Bristol City Council's Residents’ parking officer informed the meeting, confirming that there will be a review in early 2015, 6 months after the launch. Everyone will receive a postcard, informing them how they can give their views. This will include the top half of Redland ward that decided not to be part of the scheme. A view is sought as to whether the new scheme is impacting on them.
It was also discussed amongst other points (not relevant) that
Question: For those in the RPZ: Can we park in neighbouring schemes? : No. The idea is to reduce commuting. This wouldn't help. You can only use your own area.
After the break-out sessions feedback was given amongst other things regarding: that there is still a problem in the RPZ area of parking opposite junctions. Jon is to look into specific examples, the proposed crossing on Coldharbour road is being consulted on at the present.
